This adult is strange, bearing both the appearance of a drake and a deer. It has a somewhat temperamental attitude, and does not like to be followed around by you. It is incredibly fast and can outrun most of your any other creatures, and can hold its own in fights against your other creatures. It is mostly non-confrontational though, unless forced to face its situation. It prefers to eat fruit and vegetables, though you have seen it eat meat on occasion, and has attempted to catch fish before.

Although they are much more cervid in build, a Kirin's scaled hide betrays its draconic heritage. Kirin are swift and light on their feet, rarely leaving behind tracks. One of the more curious aspects of these creatures is that they have a single horn instead of two; old beliefs say these horns ground into tea will give a person good luck, although in the wild they are used for defense and dominance displays. Kirins will eat meat, although rarely, preferring to dine on leaves and grasses. They make their homes in small herds in forests and retreat to the deepest parts in the depths of winter. They reemerge in spring to breed and are highly attentive parents. Many never realize it when they spot a young kirin, as their plain brown coats blend perfectly into the dirt and trees.

Steeds are found in all regions of the veil, and as such bear many different attributes that make up these species. These creatures can be cloven, have horns of all types, wings, or any other variety of attributes, as well as elemental powers, so long as they bear four legs and hooves. It is unknown why all of these different creatures can interbreed, although it is hypothesized that they are able to due to being all offspring from the original unicorns brought by the great nature queen Jessa. Steeds still have many different uses, ranging from work animals, to the use of unicorns to manage and index what herbs, plants, and grasses can be used to make potent potions.
